Meet Kim McFarland, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specializes in helping clients ages 12 and above achieve their mental health goals. Kim believes that mental health therapy services can benefit everyone, and she understands asking for help can be the most challenging part of getting started in therapy. She encourages anyone considering therapy to contact her and learn how she can assist them.
Kim has experience in private and public counseling sectors. She is a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC) and an Approved Counseling Supervisor (ACS) who provides supervision to limited licensed professional counselors. Kim also holds several training certifications such as Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist (CDBT), and Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC). Kim also has training in Prolonged Exposure through the Center for Treatment and the Study of Anxiety from the University of Pennsylvania.Kim believes that training in specific areas is critical in providing effective therapeutic approaches.
Kim holds a Master of Science degree from Walden University in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Psychology. She is available to present training sessions on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). She also offers supervision for LLPC Supervisee’s and consultation services to other professionals.
In her free time, Kim enjoys attending mental health training and conferences, learning, as well as reading, writing, and painting.
